Lucy A. Warner, an award-winning elementary classroom music instructor for over twenty years, is a fervent believer in active, dynamic music classes! After searching for the “right” book for her students as they studied famous musicians, she is now the author of three popular Zap! Superheroes of Music children’s books, each featuring twelve famous composers, each with a superhero power.   

In the spring of 2020, the San Diego Symphony created twelve 3-minute videos for children, each featuring one composer, based on Zap! Superheroes of Music book 1. 

After a successful career in New York City as a music teacher, composer, and performer, Lucy is enjoying being back in her hometown of San Antonio, teaching music as well as performing for a small number of special events. Her song “Viva Fiesta” was recently selected to be featured in the River Parade each year.

Lucy especially enjoys witnessing the growth and excitement each of her students experiences as they become more confident and skilled in playing the ukulele.  She is gratified to be a part of the talented team of teachers in the Arts for All program!
